Senior Counsel, Contract Negotiator (TTS) The candidate will be responsible for negotiating with clients from Citi template Service Agreements for the suite of TTS (Treasury and Trade Solutions) Cash Management offerings, specifically, Accounts, Payments, Receivables, Liquidity Management, and Channel Services, from Citi template Service Agreements. The role must effectively evaluate the needs of the customer and of Citi to achieve mutually satisfactory terms for the service agreements on a timely basis. Perform legal analysis; demonstrate sound judgment and discretion; demonstrate keen awareness of issues that could cause financial, reputational, or legal consequences; and possess strong drafting skills. Must have the ability to work independently, manage and prioritize several negotiations at a time, handle negotiations of varying degrees of complexity, critically read and analyze, identify issues for escalation, possess strong communciation skills, excellent drafting capabilities, proven negotiation skills, and be a mission-oriented team player. Reports to the head of the TTS Treasury Solutions Legal group supporting products that are global, North America regional, and U.S. domestic in scope. Through this role, the person will interface with the wider Citi organization, including Product, Sales, Operations, Risk, and Compliance, in the U.S. and cross-regionally. This role will have the opportunity to gain seniority as the contract negotiations group expands to support more TTS offerings. Must have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be admitted to a state bar (NY admission a plus). Must have 3 + years of contract negotiation experience, ideally in connection with treasury or finance deals. Must have experience with complex deals, demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop recommendations, and drafting of complex contract clauses. Must have strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, and banking. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
