Managing Attorney Duties: Manage all attorneys and staff for the respective state. Provide management oversight on all matters pertaining to the specific state in regards to real estate and all other specific legal matters for the specific state. Draft legal documents that are approved for specific state requires for which the attorney is licensed to practice in. Reports to the VP of Operations. Review property searches, issue certifications and opinions. Review contracts regarding the buying and selling of real estate. Draft deeds that transfer property ownership and mortgages/deeds of trust/security deeds. Review and draft easements. Serve as closing agent on real estate transactions. Participates routinely with closing real estate purchase and loan transactions. Meets with clients to establish workflow procedures. Identifies, plans and implements improvement processes. Disseminate germane information to title team members in respective states. Keeps abreast of state specific laws in the areas of real estate. Provide technical guidance and resolution for all escalated state specific legal issues. Train incoming team members and existing team members. Review and implement new procedures regarding certification and state requirements. Draft state specific documents required for legally binding transactions. Monitor title team production. Assign files based on client relationship and attorney ability. Keep title team apprised of any issues. Participate in daily production, 25%. Management activities, 75%. Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must have a JD Degree, be licensed and hold a Bar card in good standing within the states licensed to practice. 2+ years’ experience in either title review or the drafting of legal documents pertaining to the buying and selling of real estate, deed transfers, title issues, boundary dispute, easement or zoning issues, and other legal documents in regards to the determination of land ownership. Must possess a valid driver’s license within the state of residence and become a public notary within the primary states licensed to practice. Must meet state requirements necessary to appear in court as an attorney of record within the states licensed to practice.
