ProfileCounsel II - The candidate will be supporting consumer real estate origination and servicing business activities within Wells Fargo Home Lending. Responsibilities would include providing legal advice to the company and senior management of the Corporation and its subsidiaries on mortgage origination modernization initiatives, appraiser and appraisal policy governance and oversight, as well as other related issues as they arise. Other responsibilities include conducting legal research projects, supporting the development and implementation of new products, participating in due diligence projects, and acting as an advisor to operations personnel in interpreting laws, regulations, regulator guidance and policies. Should have 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Active State Bar membership is needed. Desired Qualifications: Prior consumer lending or consumer real estate lending experience; Relevant experience in identifying, assessing and advising clients in the implementation of federal and state regulatory requirements; Relevant experience in legal issues concerning mortgage origination and servicing, including to Truth in Lending Act/Reg. Z; Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act/Reg. X; Equal Credit Opportunity Act/Reg. B and the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule; Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA), and guidance issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries is preferred. Should have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on routine legal matters are preferred. Deadline: 20-8-2017.
