Staff Attorney Candidate will provide direct legal representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in western North Dakota. Candidate will focus primarily on civil cases, including divorce and custody, other family law issues, housing and economic issues. Provide legal representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking as assigned and supervised by management Consultation on legal matters with executive director of CAWS North Dakota and member programs Provide training as it relates to representation of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school. Should be licensed to practice law in the state of North Dakota (or another state and willing to sit for the next ND Bar exam). Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues is needed. Experience, understanding and commitment to advocate individually and systematically on behalf of victims of domestic and sexual violence is needed.
