Vice President, Associate and Labor Relations - Human Resources MWF Candidate will direct a team that oversees at a national level, the development, implementation and delivery of Associate and Labor Relations philosophy and strategy; AR/LR policy and procedures; AR/LR training and development; AR/LR counsel and advice; compliance; and related analytics and metrics. Assists in-market specialists in the resolution of highly complex AR/LR issues. May handle highly complex AR/LR issues directly as needed or requested by health ministries. Will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with leaders and specialists in HR and related functional areas (Legal, Mission) at the local, regional and national levels to ensure alignment and consistency in Associate and Labor Relations, consistent with values, policies and legal and regulatory considerations. Develop national level associate and labor relations philosophies and strategies, working closely with HR leadership, HR governance, Mission and Legal. Assist with the development and implementation of local associate and labor relations strategies that are consistent with philosophy and strategy. Assist with bargaining, contract interpretation and application. Actively consult and support in-market HRP and AR/LR specialists as needed. Define metrics to be tracked and analyzed by the COE, and develop national level plans based on the data. Assist in-market partners to develop locally responsive plans to ensure consistency. Manage relevant strategic community relationships and related advocacy efforts at a national level. Assist with local strategic relationships and advocacy to ensure consistency and minimize duplication of effort. Develop standard AR/LR policies, procedures and practices. Assist in-market specialists to ensure local solutions are consistent with the established national approach. Work with local resources to identify the need for associate and labor relations training; assist in the design of training, and ensure training is delivered effectively to the target audiences. Develop and implement standardized approach to handling all levels (Tier 1, 2 and 3) of associate and labor relations issues. Assist in-market specialists to ensure local solutions on Tier 1, 2 and 3 issues are consistent with established practices. Work with and assist the legal function to ensure appropriate response to legal claims. Work with Resource Group partner to select and manage relationships with vendors providing associate and labor relations services. Develop and manage a compliance plan related to associate and labor relations issues.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have a Bachelor's level degree in related field and 10+ years of experience in Associate/Labor Relations in a medium to large complex organization, and 5+ years of leading Associate/Labor Relations in medium to large complex organization. JD degree with employment and labor law experience is preferred. Must have experience in both union and non-union environments.
