Business Transactional Managing Partner The candidate will, with oversight from founding partners and executive management, craft a long term business development strategy and oversee the plan's implementation. Will monitor the firm's progress in achieving the goals of that plan. Provide regular reporting dealing with finances, growth issues, management issues, and the implementation of business strategies. Act as the firm's representative, or ensures that an appropriate firm representative, is present at important community and bar events. Participate in and oversee pitches and presentations to business clientele. Coach junior attorneys on presentation strategies and techniques. Ensure that practice areas are running smoothly and that services are rendered in a professional, ethical, timely, and economic manner. Ensure the satellite office's compliance with overall firm policies and procedures. Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and on-boarding of new personnel.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from a top tier law school. Must have 7+ years of legal and client facing experience successfully handling major business transactions, including financings of various types, acquisitions, divestitures, licensing and technology transfer and collaborations and joint ventures. Should have strong legal experience across multiple practice areas including commercial transactions, compliance, and M&A. Should also have significant contract negotiations experience. Portable book of business is needed. Prior experience successfully generating revenue is essential. Must be a member of the bar in New York State.
