Profile

Paralegal Responsibilities: Providing support on a broad range of issues related to the development and distribution of client applications and services, including intellectual property protection, privacy, security, telecom, regulatory, accessibility as well as technology transactions, collaborations with third parties and other commercial issues; Reviewing and drafting end user license agreements for client applications, services and tools; Reviewing and responding to requests to utilize or contribute to open source software licensed projects; Review, draft and communicate legal guidance regarding competitive intelligence requests, adhering to Microsoft Corporate policies; Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to the development of client applications and services, as well as the use of pre-release/beta versions of these apps and services; Partnering with CELA colleagues and clients to develop and administer policies and practices related to legal and regulatory issues faced by the supported businesses; Collaborate with CELA colleagues and Privacy colleagues to ensure proper legal guidance for compliance; Working with clients on initiatives to enhance the customer/partner experience; Assisting in the development and preparation of client training materials, the development and deployment of client-facing Intranet tools, and the improvement of our processes and templates to increase the efficiency and quality of legal services; Working together with other members of the Office Product Group CELA team to provide comprehensive legal services to all levels of the supported businesses.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: 3-5 years relevant experience as a practicing paralegal (or equivalent) delivering excellent results; Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate is required; Experience with intellectual property issues and drafting and negotiating basic technology agreements strongly preferred, and familiarity with open source, telecom and privacy law a plus; Ability to work independently and partner with clients in supported groups; Resourcefulness and ability to quickly acquire knowledge and new skills in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work across various internal business and CELA teams to drive issues to conclusion; Ability to communicate ideas to improve processes; Strong results orientation and business focus; Outstanding organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
