Paralegal - Detroit, MI Duties: Extensive litigation/trial support experience helpful. Assist trial attorneys with case organization, witness interviews, discovery matters, administrative tasks, and trials. Communicate (orally and in writing) detailed summaries and analysis of review findings . Trial preparation to include copying, document review, document organization, bates stamping, legal research and searching documents in Concordance, Relativity, Summation, and other databases. During trial, assist with loading documents to and running Sanction presentations. Review and analyze documents, data, and other case materials for evidence relevant to the investigations. Assist with prepping and conducting witness interviews. Communicate with other DOJ components, Federal agencies and others as required in the course of investigation and litigation.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Minimum 3.00 GPA; Preference for strong academic background. 1 year of experience on major litigation support projects or undergraduate degree. Certain assignments may require experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology. Ability to work independently in a team environment. Must have excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities. Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government’s office and network environment, including, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications, such as Oracle, Concordance, Summation, Trial Director, etc. Should be a knowledgeable user of the Government’s office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems.
