Associate Director, Montague Law Library The candidate will assist the Associate Dean/Director of the Law Library in all aspects of library administration and is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of the Law Library. will oversee all routine Technical and Public Services operations and will supervise the work of the Law Library’s three support staff members; assist the Associate Dean/Director with long-range planning/budget administration and with project identification and implementation; serve as a member of the team of librarians providing research/reference support to the law faculty, students, and other library users; and teach one section of the Fall Semester first-year required legal research course. Coordinate complex activities, show creativity in the development of new services, and relate well to faculty, staff, and all library users.
Qualification and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program and a law degree from an ABA accredited law school; 2+ years of academic law library experience featuring progressively increasing responsibilities for administrative and supervisory duties. Preference will be given to candidates with law school teaching/instructional experience. Ability to work flexibly with law faculty, students, staff, and a diverse research community; substantial knowledge of electronic technologies in libraries; and, effective team-building and communication skills.
