ProfilePart-Time Attorney The candidate will report to the Managing Attorney of Motions and NOD Compliance. Responsibilities include thorough review of files to ensure that notice requirements have been met and that all information is in place to proceed. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the relevant state laws, particularly the Municipal Claims and Tax Liens Act, 53 P.S. §7101, et seq. Ensure that notice requirements under 53 P.S. §7106 are met for each account. Prepare motions, file municipal liens and service of process analysis and other compliance review. Conduct meaningful attorney review of each account. Prepare, review and sign legal demand letters. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: JD Degree with Active Pennsylvania License. Ability to contribute to positive office culture. Ability to manage multiple priorities and staff productivity. Business sense and ability to think strategically. Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), Collection Partners or a similar collections database and Internet. Demonstrated skills of poise, diplomacy and tact. Dependable, with strong work ethic and personal integrity. Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills. Experience with litigation, collections and/or bankruptcy a plus. Leadership skills and/or experience. Open to feedback at all levels. Sense of urgency. Strong legal reasoning, writing, oral communication and research skills.Schedule: 20-25 hours per week (with 20+ hours/week spent in office and potential to work additional hours from home).
