Medical Malpractice Paralegal The candidate will assist in drafting legal documents including, but not limited to, notice of intents, demand letters, Affidavits of Merits, pleadings, motions, witness lists and correspondence to opposing counsel and to the court. Obtain, review, organize, analyze medical records, and prepare case/medical chronologies. As necessary and appropriate, arrange medical examinations for clients or opposing parties and interview doctors, nurses, and hospital personnel involved in patient care. Handle case intakes, research, secure, and interface with appropriate medical experts Maintain litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines. Assist attorneys in preparation for meetings, hearings, depositions, case evaluation, facilitation, mediation and trials. Prepare witnesses, exhibits, documents and other matter materials for trial preparation. Maintain, organize, and track files including documents involving contact with insurance carrier(s), client, health care provider(s), employer(s) and state/local agencies in an efficient and effective manner. Interact with clients, respond to client inquiries, keep clients updated on progress of case. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies. File court documents. Should have 10 years of medical malpractice paralegal experience. Must have experience with document management systems and e-filing with state and federal courts. Should have ability to perform medical research, and possess in-depth knowledge of medical terminology and principles. Must have ability to analyze documents and ensure accuracy.
