Communications Coordinator Responsibilities: Writes and edits impactful, original marketing communications. Contributes to content marketing, thought leadership, social media. Researches, writes and edits compelling award nominations and rankings/directories submissions. Advises on which submissions are key to increase recognition for the firm and to promote its strategic business goals. Navigates the ins and outs of various outlets’ complex submission processes and consistently meets deadlines. Reviews marketing and communications materials and ensures compliance to firm standards of quality, firm policies and guidelines, and basics of good writing, including grammar, spelling, content flow, and adherence to Associated Press Stylebook. Also vets copy for redundancies, inconsistencies, potential conflicts.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Communications or related field, and 4+ years of writing/editing experience with a focus on law and the legal industry. Experience writing impactful, original marketing communications; crafting compelling award nominations and rankings/directories submissions; and producing engaging content across multiple platforms. Law firm experience/JD Degree a plus. Must be a strong, fast and versatile writer skilled across a variety of print and digital platforms with excellent proofreading and editing skills and knowledge of AP style.
