ProfileSenior Counsel, Connectivity The candidate will be the lead “commercial” (transactional) lawyer supporting company’s Connectivity segment, which includes its Aviation Connectivity and Maritime & Land Connectivity business line. Establish and maintain legal process improvements and best practices insofar as Connectivity business, including controls, standard contract forms and other templates and regulatory framework. Negotiate, draft and analyze commercial aviation and maritime customer and supply agreements, as well as satellite-related agreements supporting the Connectivity segment. Deep understanding of legal issues around aviation, maritime and satellite-communications matters. Work directly with the business teams to provide advice on the implementation of strategic and tactical business plans and objectives insofar as Connectivity matters. Top academic credentials and major law firm training are required. 5 - 7 years of law-firm experience in aviation, maritime, complex commercial or satellite/communications transactions, or similar work experience in-house required. This is a “transactional” legal position, not a regulatory one. Ability to lead transactions and projects, with strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to balance competing priorities to meet tight deadlines required. FCC/FAA regulatory understanding preferred. Proven ability to work cross-culturally and to communicate effectively with US and overseas offices required. 5 – 7 years of prior law-firm experience working on satellite/communications or complex commercial transactions, or similar work experience in-house required. Cross-border experience is a plus.
