Complex Claims Analyst- D&O and EPL The candidate will proactively evaluate and investigate, negotiate and manage high exposure professional and/or management liability claims, involving complex issues and/or litigation, including: Preparation of coverage position letters, ability to effectively interact with Insureds, distribution channel partners, underwriting peers, and coverage counsel. Practice effective litigation management with defense counsel. Engage in claims in both direct negotiations and as a participant in mediations and with other insurers in quota share arrangements. Participate with underwriting peers in market-facing activities to secure new business opportunities and solidify existing client relationships and enhance the claims organization's visibility by providing consistently superior quality service to all internal and external customers. Direct investigation of multi-faceted, high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation. Proactively evaluating and addressing coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels. Evaluating, managing and resolving high exposure, complex claims ensuring superior service and cost effective solutions. Managing external counsel in performing coverage analysis and resolution strategies, including defense strategies on litigated claims.. Ensuring all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines. Referring cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate. Supporting the establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters. Undertaking audits of external service providers as appropriate. Supporting development claims line of business strategy to ensure profitable growth and a strong market position. Proactively producing information and analysis to support complex decision making. Driving excellence in claims handling service provided to brokers, clients and internal customers. Proactively supporting acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary). Proactively liaising with marketing department on production initiatives. Positively representing AGCS externally to the market. Effectively interact with underwriting peers and other internal stakeholders. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualification and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: Preferably a degree in Law. Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII). 7-10 years: Specialized understanding of D&O and EPL products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge. Management of systems (e.g. Genius). 7-10 years: Specialized understanding of regional / local D&O and EPL insurance markets and competitor landscape. 7-10 years: Well recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level. 5-7 years: Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework. 5-7 years: Experience in working in complex, global matrix organization. Understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages. Knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery. Knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application. Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation). Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing. Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties. Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions. Must have a highly professional demeanor and be both service and detailed oriented with an advanced appreciation for successfully managing competing interests among stakeholders Valid until 04.08.2017
