Judicial Staff Attorney Duties: Reviews and analyzes case files where parties are seeking the court’s action. Provides for legal review, analysis, research and recommendations on legal advisement and opinions; prepares written orders for the judge’s review and signature accordingly. Initiates legal research of issues identified during the review and analysis phases, e.g., determining legal issues, locating applicable law, synthesizing research results. Provides various motions, e.g., summary judgment, dismiss, amend, set aside, vacate, compel, suppress, contempt, sanctions, continuance, extensions, default, discovery. Performs special research and special projects as may be assigned, e.g., speech writing, compilation of special presentations, ensuring quality/quantity of needed legal resources. Assists the judge in all courtroom proceedings as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree required; supplemented by 1 year of experience practicing law; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Closing Date: 08/05/2017
