Litigation - General (consumer)
Min 5 yrs required
Litigation Counsel Duties: Defend cases across Texas and Oklahoma, and may also supervise litigation in other areas of the country. Support the states. Handle all assigned litigation and other legal matters for the companies and its policyholders. Work includes case analysis, preparation of motions, pleadings, discovery, conducting depositions, hearings, trials, and communicating with the Claims Department. May sometimes engage, manage, and direct the work of outside counsel. Must be able to competently present the controversy at trial while maintaining the independent professional judgment required of a lawyer.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Licensed or eligible to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma. Graduate from an accredited law school. 5+ years of litigation practice. Trial experience required. Admitted to or eligible for admission to federal court. Able to timely handle full-time high case load with little to no direct supervision. Property litigation preferred. Insurance defense litigation background required. Must have the requisite experience, skill and judgment required to represent the interests of and its policyholders with little or no direct supervision. demonstrate expertise with a variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures while relying upon his or her experience and judgment to plan and accomplish job responsibilities and goals.
