Senior Business Development Manager Duties: Partner deeply with product groups and coordinate activities, as needed, across Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Corporate Affairs, Finance, Corporate Development, and Venture Integration. Act as a trusted advisor to Microsoft’s product leaders. Astutely negotiate medium sized deals, representing Microsoft’s interests while presenting the best possible image of Microsoft to partners. Deeply understand silicon technology, products and services, and intellectual property rights. Study the business environments impacted by projects you support, including history, trends, emerging technologies, ecosystem, competitors and partners.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A BA/BS degree is required. MBA or JD are preferred. A technical degree is a bonus. 10+ years of business experience. A proven track record of driving successful business development transactions and corporate-level alliances. Business- and market-development knowledge with an understanding of partnership strategy and a general knowledge of channel development, marketing, sales, services, and engineering processes. Working knowledge of intellectual property, including the business model issues and tradeoff points with respect to negotiating deals. Superb relationship, communication, and negotiation skills in working with executives, external constituents, and other business functions. An ability to lead, influence and drive results in a complex R&D and business environment. Key interpersonal traits include: motivation, passion for technology, creativity, adaptability, unquestionable ethics & integrity, and a willingness to take calculated risks.
