Litigation - General (consumer)
Associate Attorney The candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks associated with legal collections. Networks to create opportunities for growth. Handles and provides analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks. Interprets laws, rulings and regulations impacting the company and advise the business as appropriate. Should have J.D. degree from accredited law school. Should be a licensed attorney qualified to practice law in the state of Nebraska. Experience in litigation and consumer debt collection litigation desired. Prior experience managing attorneys and legal staff preferred. Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings a must. Must have membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the state of Nebraska. Should have knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations is needed. Advanced knowledge and thorough understanding of collection law with respect to regulatory requirements is essential. Experience in consumer credit and/or drafting and negotiating ideal. Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. is required. Should also be able to write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
