Senior Litigation Counsel The candidate will handle complex litigation cases through trial. Determine appropriate action on litigation; provide advice on possible outcomes, awards and settlements. Prepare and/or review defense positions and legal strategies, engaging and managing counsel as required. Prepare and/or review motions, briefs, pleadings, legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda to identify and protect client's legal interests. Draft pleadings, correspondence, reports and budgets. Propose, prepare and respond to and evaluate oral and written discovery. Prepare and/or review annual legal fees budget for assigned cases. Provide high quality, cost effective legal advice and recommendations. Identify and protect the legal interest of the company. Research legal principles and precedents within area of specialization or expertise. Identify unique issues in assigned matters and recommend appropriate responses to those issues. Proactively communicate with, build and maintain client relations. May act as mentor and coach to less senior attorneys, paralegal/staff; explains issues, ideas and concepts that are incorporated into work assignments. May research, develop and deliver training to business partners on a wide variety of topics. Make effective use of technology and automation in the practice of law. Track time and travel. Should have experience managing litigation and providing advice. Has frequent, independent contact with clients, client's employees, witnesses, experts and adversaries through counsel. Other duties as assigned. Must have 6-13 years litigation experience. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish; must have excellent command of both languages and must be able to conduct business in both languages. Must have Juris Doctorate; graduate of an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials. Must be admitted to the Florida Bar in good standing.
