ProfileSenior Trial Attorney The candidate investigates and manages liability cases in civil litigation from the inception of the lawsuit until conclusion through dismissal, settlement or trial. Works with adjuster and clients to resolve claims as expeditiously and efficiently as possible. Handles a caseload involving moderate to high exposures pending throughout the State of Louisiana. Exposures principally involve general liability, premises liability, products liability and, to a lesser extent, auto liability claims. Independently conducts trials, pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or any other legal activity required to resolve cases. Provides legal advice to clients and other claim professionals as needed. Negotiates settlements as directed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 7+ years of experience in general liability matters, including first-chair jury trial experience. Should be licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana. Federal Bar membership is highly desirable. Must have solid experience in preparing answers, handling appearances, motion practice, valuation of claims, settlement and trials. Experience with and/or the ability to handle or assist with a smaller subset of workers' compensation defense casework is also desirable.
