ProfileLitigation Counsel The candidate will be responsible for the competent, ethical, and diligent representation of clients in all assigned litigation cases. Litigation cases focus on real estate title and may involve issues related to bankruptcy, secured transactions, tax and contract law. Handles litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Claims department. Handles motions, arbitrations, bench trials, and jury trials commensurate with level of experience, including preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs, attendance at hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations and trials, and performance of any other tasks or duties necessary for the proper representation of clients. Maintains and updates computerized litigation support system for assigned caseloads. Should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, in the top half of graduating class and an active member in good standing in the State of California. Must have detailed knowledge of civil litigation practice, including local and state discovery rules, trial procedures and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience.
