ProfileSurety Bonds Claim Attorney Responsibilities : The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of claims handling in accordance with MSA Claim Handling Guidelines for a full caseload of fidelity and surety bond claims. Investigates, analyzes and resolves coverage issues and settlements. Monitors litigation and outside vendors. Assist in providing legal advice to Bond Underwriting and general guidance and training Bonds staff.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a JD. Will consider Bachelors Degree with equivalent Surety Claims experience. Minimum 1-4 years of litigation experience. Occasional travel required. Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business. Gaining others’ support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions; achieving desired business results through effective negotiation. Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems. Ability to plan, organize, monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources. Initiates, develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside or outside the organization. Knowledge of how to estimate the cost of a loss and to reserve that amount for eventual resolution. Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available at the desktop. Knowledge of principles, techniques and practices of negotiation and settlement of claims. Knowledge of fidelity and surety bond products, market segments and marketplace. Knowledge of the contractual and legal matters related to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, hardware and software acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.)
