ProfileAttorney The candidate will work in a team environment and focus on primarily Workers’ Compensation liens, including, reviewing medical reports, analyzing evidence, reviewing Workers’ Compensation files, preparing lien analysis, preparing fee schedule calculations, identifying defenses, preparing and reviewing settlement documents, negotiating and appearing at Lien Hearings and Lien Trials at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards located throughout Southern California. Will perform non-lien related work as well. Work closely with law firm staff. Assist senior attorneys on non-lien matters and appearances as well. Handle a caseload involving workers’ compensation liens. Appear at Lien Hearings and Lien Trials in Southern California. Resolve workers’ compensation liens and prepares lien analyses. Prepare settlement agreements, Pre-Trial Conference Statements and Trial Exhibits. Negotiate lien settlements as directed. Perform other duties as assigned, including appearing at non-lien hearings, walk-throughs and depositions. Perform non-lien work as assigned. Assist attorneys with lien and non-lien matters. Travels to and makes appearances at Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards in Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California is needed. Should have 1 + year of legal experience. Workers’ Compensation experience preferred but not required. Must have a positive attitude, ability to get along well with others and work as a team. Excellent negotiation, communication (verbal and written), organizational and analytical skills are also required.
