Associate Manager, Litigation Operations The candidate will be a member of the Legal Service Center and will assist the Chief Litigation Counsel and other members of the Company’s Litigation Team with a variety of litigation and discovery-related projects. This includes: monitoring the litigation docket; assisting with discovery, eDiscovery and the litigation hold process; and generating and coordinating quarterly and annual litigation reporting to the Company’s auditors, Board and senior management. Manage all Litigation support staff, currently one Legal Assistant. Manage the daily workload of Litigation support staff; redistribute when necessary. Prepare various litigation reports for auditors and management and manage quarterly and year-end inquiries from the Company’s auditors; lead the legal confirm process. Review daily work product of Litigation support staff for quality assurance and eliminate attorney time for reviewing administrative work product. Manage the development and implementation of uniform “best practice” litigation procedures, including dissemination and maintenance of litigation holds. Assist with preparation, dissemination, and maintenance of preservation hold memoranda in connection with ongoing or threatened litigation or government investigations. Manage eDiscovery for the Company’s litigation, including development of an electronic litigation file room following the Company’s switch to Google. Review new US case law and regulations regarding eDiscovery and document retention; update attorneys and educate staff regarding changes to the law on a quarterly basis. Develop, update, and manage weekly litigation calendar and docketing procedures, ensure integrity and maintenance of calendaring system. Manage subpoena responses and other legal requests for information. Assist with litigation budgeting and budget management. Work with Litigation Team to standardize forms for administrative use for attorney review, including template discovery responses and responsive pleadings. Review, assess and implement new technologies and vendors in an effort to make litigation processes and procedures more efficient; ensure that litigation matter management database is updated and accurate. Manage and coordinate Company’s participation in various class action settlements, including working with third party recovery agencies. Coordinate communications with relevant parties (third party vendors and experts) and serve as a primary day-to-day liaison to develop more efficient processes and workstreams. Oversee special projects related to records management as needed. Bachelors’ Degree and J.D required. Significant experience and familiarity with eDiscovery and working with eDiscovery vendors required. Strong: proficiency in Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis and other legal research tools; written and oral communication skills required. Experience of working in a team environment and independently required. Must be an effective liaison between in-house staff and outside counsel. Ability to interact with attorneys, internal executives and their assistants, human resources personnel and other business partners required.
