Vice President, Associate General Counsel The candidate will work for OGC Inside (“VP OGC Insideâ€) is a new position in the Office of General Counsel. Will lead this initiative, managing one or more “second chair†experienced lawyers, several new lawyers, and one or more paralegals. Manage a team of lawyers and paralegals handling all phases of litigation, from filing through trial. Lead and manage the transformation of the litigation service delivery model from reliance on outside counsel to primary reliance on in-house lawyers. Develop people by putting the right people in the right roles and opportunities and providing clear success criteria and rewarding excellent performance. Oversee the alignment of resources to risks based on the strategies and goals of company and the OGC. Prepare, and perform to, a quarterly budget. Prepare, and perform to, a statement of Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures. Act as a thought leader in the local and national legal community on the changing legal service delivery model. Develop winning litigation strategies to ensure judgments and awards favorable to company.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree, and meets all local legal license requirements. Should have 8+ years specializing in commercial or employment litigation. First Chair trial experience, including 10 or more trials is needed. Must have mastery in advising senior executives on litigation matters. Should have ability to lead a team of litigation attorneys and paralegals. Must have excellent presentation, facilitation, networking, collaboration and influencing skills. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interest in coaching and mentoring young lawyers is needed.
