Profile

LPM Project Manager - Litigation The candidate will assist practice areas, attorneys, and legal teams interested in implementation of Legal Project Management with the firm's best practices guidelines. Will interact with various groups and committees within the firm to gather and distribute information to assist in the betterment of any and all legal project management tools. Develop expertise in firm's LPM software. Work with advocacy department, attorneys, and legal teams to implement software, firm's LPM approach or any other methodology adopted by the firm. Work with clients and legal teams to develop statement of work for legal engagement; stakeholder analysis, and task and activity lists or legal work breakdown structures. Work with legal teams on existing matters where there is a need to implement more efficient case management strategies. Work with the firm's program committee composed of Billing, IT, Pricing, Knowledge Management, and LPM to further the development of software. Develop expertise in Budget Designer. Work with advocacy practice groups to identify and develop process maps for the CMS matter types created for that practice group. Work with the Litigation Support to integrate Lean and Project Management methodologies into eDiscovery and Document Review projects. Develop budget templates within firm's Budget Designer tool for each of the practice group matter types within the advocacy department. Collaborate with the pricing manager and the pricing analyst to evaluate alternative fee structures for the various practice groups within the advocacy department with the goal of creating customized fee proposals tailored for the area of practice. Work with the firm's program committee composed of Billing, IT, Pricing, Knowledge Management, Litigation Support and LPM to implement and refine the firm's task based billing including development of matter types and matter plans. Work with the practice groups within the advocacy department to evaluate matter type and task based billing usage on a biannual basis. Work to help identify legal and technological organizations for possible participation and award application (e.g., International Legal Technology Association(ILTA), Project Management Institute, ABA, College of Law Practice Management, TerraLex, ILTA-PMI collaborative committee, ABA-PMI Collaborative Committee; Advocacy Legal Organizations, etc.). Act as a liaison for firm with advocacy or litigation organizations with and interest in Legal Project Management. Work with the firm's Director of Professional Development to develop LPM training programs for attorneys, paralegals, and other legal team members within the advocacy department. Develop training programs for client teams which will include client representatives. Write at least one article for publication on an annual basis. Work with attorneys to provide technical marketing for prospective clients within the advocacy department.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a four-year college degree. Law degree from accredited law school is required. Must have 3-5 years of litigation experience. Should preferably have experience with the use of litigation support technology. Experience with implementation of a project management information system or knowledge management technology is desired. Should be a PMI member and project management professional certification or willingness to obtain. Experience with process improvement methodology such as Lean and Six Sigma or willingness to obtain needed. SQL Database knowledge is a plus.
