Litigation - Whistleblower - CFTC
Attorney Responsibilities: The candidate will advise, counsel, and resolve pre-litigation matters. Perform legal research and analyses on various topics. Collaborates with General Counsel on regulatory and other legal matters. Review client RFP’s, RFI’s, and RFQ’s and provide responses. Draft and solidify client agreements, vendor contracts and other legal documents to ensure compliance. Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to business partners. Communicate with outside counsel and internal clients regarding case status and negotiations. Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations and changes in legislation. Compose monthly summaries to General Counsel, detailing progress against objectives and goals. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements : The candidate should have a Juris doctorate degree. Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within specialty area and the regulatory environment within which they operate. Litigation or litigation management experience preferred. Knowledge of federal student loan rules and account resolution experience a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple pending matters. Excellent legal and business judgment skills, and practical problem-solving skills to resolve issues. Ability and willingness to present to senior leadership. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies. Team player who can collaborate within the legal department and across business groups. Excellent communication, writing skills. Ability to gather data, investigate and analyze information while being able to draw conclusions and issue recommendations. Must be able to travel.
