Attorney Duties: Will be responsible for representing clients in personal injury and litigation and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, or manage or advise clients on legal transactions. May specialize in a single area or may practice broadly in many areas of law. Represent clients as assigned by the law firm. Appear before Commissions and Courts. Actively engage in client meetings to discuss case status and strategy. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. Present evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation. Perform other duties may be assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications : A Juris Doctor degree in Law. 5+ years relevant work experience. Should be an experienced personal injury attorney. Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills. All staff counsel should also have the skills necessary to litigate matters in both the Superior Court as well as the Workers Compensation. Commissions within the State of Connecticut as required. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
