Litigation Support Manager Duties: Provide leadership to the Litigation Support department comprised of Project Managers and Analysts. Acts as a key attorney, client contact and technology expert on the eDiscovery capabilities of the Firm. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at every stage of the EDRM on behalf of the department, the attorneys, and the Firm’s clients. Interfaces with senior IT staff for corporate clients on technical integration and data management for litigation. Prepares project budgets and cost benefit analysis and provides strategic insight on workflow decisions. Coordinates communication and collaboration among stakeholders (clients, partners, associates, litigation support staff, IT staff, vendors). Creates and revises policies, procedures, and workflows to reflect current best practices. Creates and maintains project documentation, preserves project audit trails and ensures documentation standards are maintained by attorneys and staff.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelors degree, required, JD preferred. 10+ years experience in litigation technology, preferably in a large volume vendor environment. Law firm experience is a plus. Project Leader experience and in-depth hands-on experience processing and producing ESI. Must be comfortable as an advisor to attorneys, paralegals and other support staff with differing levels of technical knowledge and be able to assist them accordingly. Experience managing the full lifecycle of a case from collection through trial. Experience preparing information governance policies, including document retention schedules, desired. Experience using various litigation support applications, including: Relativity (RCA a plus), Case Notebook (LiveNote), LAW Prediscovery, NUIX, IPRO (Build), Sanction,/TrialMax, CaseMap and/or MS Access. Functional knowledge of data forensic collection and analysis; chain of custody, data storage, data mapping, and network architecture is necessary. Capable of providing mentorship and guidance to attorneys, paralegals, project managers and other Firm staff on all eDiscovery related issues. Must have thorough understanding of the EDRM and the tools and services that comprise each stage. Knowledge of Electronic Discovery and amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure pertaining to E-discovery; excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and technical writing skills and ability to handle tight deadlines and high stress situations. Relational database structure and management, SQL query, stored procedure, and/or .NET development a plus; and familiarity with Unix\Linux file systems, scripting, and data management a plus. Trial presentation experience a plus.
