Litigation Analyst Duties: Assists in training and orientation of contract reviewers and litigation analyst/legal assistant team members. Utilizes database and review platform functionality to track reviewer performance, batch assignments, QC work product of reviewers, and perform substantive analysis of database content. Serve as a conduit between reviewers and associates regarding questions on relevancy, responsiveness, privilege and other issues from the review team and record the outcomes in the Decision Log or other memorialization of the review. Perform substantive searches and analysis and conduct fact development to create work product to support the legal staff. Assists in review room set up and database configuration, as well as assist in the initial case team meeting to ensure individuals are informed and aware of the objectives of the review and the roles of all involved. Understands review platforms and database functionality and follows emerging technologies; recommends appropriate tools and functionalities are applied based on the needs of specific cases and to optimize review efficiency. Recognizes and assists with resolving technical issues for reviewers and team members. Collaborates with attorneys, discovery analysts and S&C’s EDLS team in order to facilitate a unified, comprehensive approach to e-discovery review and production requirements, including resolving conflicting tags and staging production requests. Closely monitors performance of review projects as well as individual reviewers and provides regular reporting to manage projects to their key goals and deadlines. Assists in formulating review workflow for privilege review, maintains a decision log on privilege issues, and assists in privilege log creation. Reviews and interprets document requests in order to contribute to strategic plans to satisfy requirements and meet production deadlines.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree and Bachelor's degree required. Some document review and/or legal assistant experience desired. Bar admissions is preferred, and if admitted must be in good standing. Experience in litigation document review and assisting attorneys prepare productions. Strong verbal and written communication skills is required. Good organizational skills, detail-oriented and flexible. Good problem solving ability, particularly with technology based applications and processes. Able to work under pressure and prioritize projects. High degree of initiative and self-motivation. Spanish or Mandarin language skills strongly preferred. Must have in-depth and broad experience in databases for litigation document review platforms to assist in the day to day responsibilities of document review with temporary JD reviewers, second level review, as well as effectively search, analyze, and compile information and documents requested by the legal staff. Must have broad knowledge of document review and production, as well as privilege issues and privilege logs. Must have good communication skills, have the ability to follow through on requests from the legal staff, be able to assemble and interpret, or distill and summarize vast amounts of data, and be able to manage multiple projects and assignments.
