Claims Adjuster Lead - Triage Duties: Models ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics, and information protection policies. Review lawsuits and claim files and provide recommendations for the handling of new law suits. Have the technical knowledge of estimating and repair methods and the ability to review and compare estimates for overlap, pricing, understand industry standards and repair options and assess the potential effect on jury views and trial outcomes. Recognize the potential deficiencies in a case and the need to a negotiate settlement as a potential resolution. Assist management with the creation of strategic initiatives and the implementation litigation strategies. Participates in catastrophe response, as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Associate’s degree OR 2 years' relevant experience OR a combination of college education and experience equivalent to 2 years. AND 8+ years of experience handling claims. OR JD Degree with 2 year of adjusting experience. Must possess a valid, active and appropriate Florida adjuster license within 90 days of employment and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Within 90 days of employment, must successfully complete all requirements of Citizens Fundamental Claims School which includes obtaining an overall passing score. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or field with skill transferrable to insurance. 10+ years of experience handling claims. Active Florida Adjuster license (620 or 644). Industry designations or certification. Ability to interpret policy language and recognize potential ambiguities that could lead to potential adverse verdicts. Ability to adapt to change and work efficiently to provide prompt review and assessment of potential trial outcomes. Ability to research internal and external websites.
