Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property Disputes and Licensing Candidate will be responsible for executing key parts of company's IP strategy, including managing third party patent disputes and assertions, and negotiating patent license agreements. Responsibilities include managing third party patent disputes in a variety of jurisdictions; evaluating licensing of third-party patented technology; assisting in design-around strategy, or structuring and negotiating patent dispute resolutions and settlements, as appropriate. Teaming and working collaboratively with the litigation group on patent litigation matters to drive matters to successful resolution. Negotiating and executing patent cross-licenses, settlement agreements, and IP-related provisions in licensing agreements, such as covenants-not-to-sue, IP indemnities, and joint ownership provisions. Performing patent landscaping studies across key technology areas to help shape Company's cross-licensing strategy. Acting as a trusted adviser to business units, executives, engineers, and other legal team members. Working cooperatively with other members of the patent and litigation teams. Candidate should have a J.D. degree from top law school. Should have High technical aptitude/technical degree. 8+ years of patent litigation experience, with significant hands-on, first-chair experience negotiating and drafting patent licenses, settlements, and/or IP-related provisions in tech transactions is required. Patent litigation experience from top-tier law firm is needed. Should be a member of California Bar. Membership of the Patent Bar is a plus. In-house experience is preferred. Detailed knowledge and understanding of patent law, including newest case law and developing legislative and judicial trends is required.
