Employment Law Paralegal Duties: Work with the Employment Law attorneys and paralegals to manage litigation and ensure prompt and accurate compliance with legal matters. Oversee and work with outside counsel to manage administrative charges. Assist internal and external counsel in the management of employment litigation including class and collective actions. Respond to and investigate demand letters from Plaintiff’s counsel alleging violations of employment law statutes. Investigate wage claims and respond to current and former employees and government agencies. Provide assistance to attorneys with respect to employment law matters. Act as a liaison with Privacy, HR Shared Services and other departments. Research and interpret federal, state and local statutes, regulations and rules. Arrange and participate in conference calls, meetings and discussions with internal business groups related to legal and regulatory matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred. 3+ years of relevant experience. Experience in managing litigation. Experience researching and interpreting federal, state and local statutes, regulations and rules. Preferred: Experience with employment law matters. Benefits and compensation experience. Corporate acquisition experience. Strong communication skills, including the ability to interview witnesses and document findings. Proficient with Microsoft products including PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to handle and prioritize among multiple simultaneous projects.
