Litigation Assistant The candidate will Reports to Project Supervisor. Work in support of wide-ranging international financial fraud investigations in the Securities and Financial Fraud unit. Directly assist trial attorneys with all phases of the litigation process. Trial preparation to include copying, document review, document organization, witness interview preparation, preparing exhibits, bates stamping, legal research and searching documents in Relativity. During trial, assist with coordinating witness information, and load documents to and run Sanction presentations. Review and analyze documents, data, and other case materials for evidence relevant to the investigations. Utilize review tools and systems to record relevant information about documents and other data. Communicate (orally and in writing) detailed summaries and analysis of review findings -Assist trial attorneys with case organization, witness interviews, discovery matters, and administrative tasks. Coordinate with other DOJ components, Federal agencies, and others as required in the course of investigation and litigation. Litigation support assistance may involve need to travel.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 3.00 GPA. Must have 1+ year of experience on major litigation support projects or undergraduate degree. Preference for strong academic background and/or a finance/economic background. Experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology. Excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities. Knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, hardware systems, and other applications, such as Relativity, Summation, Sanction, etc. Able to obtain and maintain a DOJ MBI clearance.
