Senior Paralegal Duties: Provide customer service to the general public and claimants who call the VCF Helpline. Manage team of Helpline Agents for the VCF Toll-Free Helpline. Supervise and provide guidance to Helpline Agents that assist claimants with online claim form questions and walk-through steps to completion, answer questions regarding claim status and VCF correspondence. Identify and help the VCF leadership team troubleshoot issues identified on the Helpline. Manage a variety of external communications with various agencies and internal communications to facilitate the receipt of information used to verify and review claims submitted by claimants to the VCF. Facilitate tracking and reporting of Helpline activity. Manage CPC telephones. Work under the direction of a Project Manager.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Requires paralegal certificate. An equivalent level of legal training may be substituted with the approval of the COR. 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful. 1+ year of experience in automated litigation support. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important. Supervisory experience; experience with customer service, VCF claims management system, providing technical assistance, and training new staff preferred.
