Profile

Rights & Systems Analyst Duties: Responsible for assisting the attorneys in the Rights Group in providing advice to the firm distribution and other exploitation businesses regarding the company’s rights in its entertainment content. Work with the Rights Group’s Director of Systems & Databases in maintaining and improving the Rights Group’s systems and databases, including its assignment management and rights applications. Searching and reviewing existing corporate databases, the internet and other sources for product information about certain titles locating and pulling files, documents and other information needed for rights research on firm properties working with the Group’s attorneys in analyzing contracts and other documents to determine the company's rights in its entertainment products drafting responses to clients regarding firm’s rights entering rights analyses into the Group’s rights database working with Rights Group staff to develop, test, and implement creative solutions to the department’s evolving organizational and technology needs responding to database users’ questions, concerns and needs with quick, thorough and accurate responses and solutions coordinating with the company’s IT group to resolve production defects and implement system enhancements providing training and support for application users testing releases of new system functionality to ensure that new features meet business requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: B.A., B.S. or higher degree. Strong skills / experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Access proficiency a plus). Familiarity with the entertainment business and knowledge of entertainment contracts legal background (J.D. or paralegal (or comparable work) experience) is a significant plus, outstanding academic credentials; excellent project management and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, superior organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a responsible, thorough manner, good business judgment and ability to see the big picture, strong interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to changing priorities, and ability to be a "team player". Experience using computer databases and working both with business users and technical teams; excellent computer skills with the ability to quickly master new applications; Microsoft Visual Basic skills (ability to read and debug code) and/or experience in computer programming, data analysis, QA or database design/architecture are pluses.
