Patent Agent The candidate will manage a portion of the company's growing patent portfolio, with a primary focus on the protection of inventions and patent prosecution relating to company's diabetes management products. Will work closely with company's technical teams and develop in-depth expertise in particular areas, which may be one or more of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, wireless connectivity, Cloud computing, data processing and diabetes decision support algorithms. Actively manage patent portfolio, managing external relationships with outside counsel and collaborators. Drive invention capture and patent application drafting. Handle freedom-to-operate, infringement and validity analyses.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. BSEE (Electrical Engineering), BSME (Mechanical Engineering), Mathematics / Algorithm concentration strongly preferred. Must be admitted to the USPTO with 3+ years of in-house or law firm patent prosecution experience. Significant technical expertise (educational and work experience) in one or more of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, wireless connectivity, Cloud computing, data processing and diabetes decision support algorithms is required. In-depth knowledge of diabetes management a strong plus.
