Regulatory Paralegal Candidate will assist the Associate General Counsel in managing projects in the Legal Department within the Corporate and Commercial, Regulatory Counseling or Litigation/Regulatory Enforcement practice areas. Projects may include reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and researching legal documents to determine specific issues and courses of action. Respond to inquiries from customers, government agencies, and other interested parties. Assist in-house/outside counsel with assigned legal matters. Assist in responding to requests for information from regulatory agencies; respond to document production and discovery requests and other matters. Draft and proofread legal documents. Document, manage records and review transactional/contract-related information. Accumulate, analyze, and summarize data and facts for attorneys. Develop substantive knowledge of practice area. Interact at a professional level with internal clients, outside counsel, regulators and other agencies and persons as needed. Create, run and review legal reports. Assist with special projects, attends project team meetings as needed. Perform legal research and other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Paralegal certificate is required. Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved university is preferred. 7+ years’ experience in legal or equivalent field is required. 8+ years’ experience is preferred. 3+ years’ experience in customer service is preferred. Must possess an ability to read, comprehend, draft and interpret legal documents. Knowledge of legal research techniques, terminology, forms, court procedures and applicable time frames is required. Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to create spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides and work with legal databases is needed.
