Legal Secretary The candidate will provide support to attorneys and paralegals in all phases of litigation/labor and employment practice. Draft various documents, forms, correspondence, memoranda, timesheets, etc., associated with the daily production of legal documents. Edit, proofread, redline, finalize and format documents; scan and distribute to appropriate parties to clients, attorneys, and staff. Coordinate billing, including review and editing of proformas; responsible for submission of invoices according to billing guidelines. Ensure accuracy and quality control of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax in final formats. Coordinate travel arrangements, including air, hotel, and local transportation for attorney and clients. Prepare and submit expense reports. Set up and maintain firm files and manage disposition of files. Assist attorneys, paralegals and others as needed.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 5+ years of professional services experience (legal field strongly preferred). Should have excellent attention to detail; problem solving, editing and proofreading abilities are key. Must be proficient in Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
