Litigation - Foreclosure (Lender-side)
Foreclosure Paralegal Duties: Will join the foreclosure and default servicing department. Review of foreclosure referrals and loan documents; preparation of demand letters and tracking of expiration dates; review of title searches and ability to identify minor title issues; preparation of assignments and forwarding of same for execution and recording; preparation of complaints and filing of same with applicable courts; and preparation of documents for service, act as liaison with sheriffs or constables and monitoring of completion of service. Filing for judgment or submitting of documents to courts in support of judgment; drafting of notices of sale, review of publications and monitoring of sale process in general; review of bid instructions and preparation of auction package; preparation of foreclosure deed and supporting documents for execution and recording; and monitoring and updating of lender /​ servicer websites to ensure compliance.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: Associate’s degree in paralegal studies and/​or certificate in paralegal studies preferred. Litigation /​ Foreclosure background is preferred. Must be highly confidential to protect the client’s privacy rights. Should be capable of working independently and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic correspondence. Strong organizational skills with advanced problem solving, ability to multitask and detail oriented skills. Ability to read legal terms and conditions and understand their meaning and how it applies to work processes.
