Patent Agent Candidate will actively participate in the process of creating a strong patent portfolio for company. Will be responsible for all phases of patent prosecution for company’s global patent portfolio including full responsibility for an assigned docket of new and pending patent applications. Strategic preparation and prosecution (including in-house prosecution) of high quality patent applications. Respond to US office actions, manage and provide instructions to outside foreign patent counsels for prosecution of foreign counterparts. Participate in patent portfolio mining sessions for the purpose of categorizing and ranking the portfolio for potential use in the industry. Collaborate effectively with licensing and litigation teams to develop target analysis, provide support for the preparation of infringement positions and increase portfolio utilization rates. Conduct prior art searches. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or relevant Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Should be registered to practice in front of the USPTO as an Agent (and/or CIPO as a Patent Agent). 2-3 years of related industry experience in the technical field, preferably in product design in the areas of telecommunications, DRAM, Flash, microprocessor/microcontrollers or high-speed memory interfaces is required. 3-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience in a reputable law firm setting with focus on preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications in the areas of telecommunications, DRAM, Flash, microprocessor/microcontrollers or high-speed memory interfaces is required. Experience in a large corporate environment as an Agent is preferred.
