Paralegal The candidate provides overall support for contract matters to attorneys and field personnel and is responsible for administering and maintaining contract information, the contract review process, related databases and files. Manages and maintains contracts-related databases and/or spreadsheets (using Access, Secretariat, Serengeti). Conducts legal and factual research regarding contractual matters. Prepares Corporate Resolutions. Functions as primary intake point for all contract review requests to the Legal department. Monitors contract review process to ensure it is accurately and expeditiously followed. Reviews contracts and agreements. Reviews requests for proposals and coordinates and/or assists in preparation of responses. Maintains contract review log for the Legal department. Maintains contract files, including identifying appropriate retention periods. Prepares correspondence. Compiles data and prepares regular reports, including Excel spreadsheets and occasional PowerPoint presentations. Advises field personnel regarding appropriate use of forms and standard clauses. Responds to inquiries from Corporate and field personnel. Responds to inquiries from outside counsel. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Associate’s degree or paralegal certification. Should have experience with Secretariat, Access, and Serengeti. Must have 2 years of experience as a contract paralegal. Experience in the waste industry is needed. Must have MS Office proficiency at least intermediate level (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Should have excellent organizational skills. Must have proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
