Regulatory Paralegal Responsibilities: Works under general supervision of the legal counsel staff. Performs administrative services and assistance, of general complexity, requiring the use of judgment and discretion on a periodic basis. Works with attorneys to perform one or more of the following functions: prepare and finalize new state applications; prepare and finalize state and federal regulatory and compliance documents; copyright and trademark filing and maintenance; corporate formation, maintenance and governance; complex business transaction support; securities law compliance; litigation management; contractual support; electronic and paper research; file organization and maintenance. Maintains and administers the department docket and other time sensitive activities in conjunction with established department guidelines and procedures. Prepares letters, memos, reports, and other documents, as directed and maintains the department calendar. Coordinates compliance related projects and activities involving internal and external parties as directed by management. Develops a positive relationship with individuals throughout the company. Prepares, collates, and distributes various specialized reports as requested by management. May assist in the research, analysis and interpretation of data under the direction of management. Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping a high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification Requirements: Proven paralegal training obtained through the completion of an associate or Bachelor's degree program or through paralegal certification program strongly preferred. Proven experience in a progressively responsible capacity performing in a paralegal and/or legal secretarial role in a legal, business, or education environment. Also requires the ability to type accurately and efficiently from rough draft and machine transcription or personal dictation, involving standard legal vocabulary, using common word processing programs. Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, as well as external parties. Must have a working knowledge of personal software packages to perform clerical and administrative functions as described above. Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a variety of activities.
