Senior Paralegal Labor and Employment The candidate will be primarily responsible for investigating charges from the EEOC and other state and/or federal agencies and drafting and editing responses. Will works with various stakeholders including Apollo attorneys, Human Resources, Ethics and Compliance, and business leaders to resolve agency charges under the direction of legal counsel. Investigate and prepare written responses to EEOC charges and other state and/or federal agency charges, which entails identifying, reviewing and analyzing relevant documentation and interviewing witnesses and highlighting areas of potential legal risk and performing legal and factual research and preparing draft “position statements” and other documents responsive to requests from the EEOC and other employment related government agencies. Review and monitor new/updated relevant labor and employment laws and regulations and assist the company in defending litigation and arbitration matters, including discovery proceedings, hearings, and trial. Assist attorneys as needed in providing advice and counsel to company on labor and employment matters and coordinate and be involved in other legal department related projects and activities involving internal and external parties as directed by management.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a working knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and FLSA is needed and familiarity with WestLaw or Lexis is a plus. Must have 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, HR employee relations professional, attorney, or similar experience in a comparable capacity, preferably in the Labor & Employment field and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or completion of paralegal certification program required. Experience in human resources with an emphasis in compliance-based and employee relations matters preferred.
