Certified Legal Document Preparer or Legal Document Preparer Trainee The candidate will be responsible for client intake for family court matters. Provide step by step instructions on filling out family court forms. Review and prepare pre- and post-decree family court documents. Provide general information pertaining to legal rights and procedures in family law matters. Conduct legal information sessions on divorce, legal decision-making, parenting time and child support in both English and Spanish (Phoenix and Mesa locations). Answer, retrieve and return calls for the Family Law Support Services department. Update and maintain client files. Duties will include filing, maintaining brochures on information displays, etc. Gather data for monthly reports. Certified Legal Document Preparers must meet Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements for certification and attend seminars to improve client services.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have high school graduate or GED. A certificate of completion from a paralegal or legal assistant program approved by the American Bar Association is needed. Must meet the requirements for Individual Standard Certification as contained in ACJA § 7-208 as a LDP Trainee if not already certified as a Certified Legal Document Preparer is required. 3+ years of Family Law legal experience under the supervision of an Arizona licensed attorney or 3+ years as a Certified Legal Document Preparer preparing family court documents. Proficient with computers including: Microsoft Office and the internet are needed. Bilingual (Spanish) is required. Must have clear and competent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, demanding environment is required.
