Legal Secretary II Duties: Provide support for two or more litigating attorneys. In addition, prepares a variety of correspondence, pleadings, motions, petitions, briefs, legal forms, and independently prepares correspondence. Assist attorneys in organization of materials and preparation for trial. Create word processing transcription from compact disk (CD) and tape. Prioritize and plan large scale projects and to be well organized and analytical.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience as a legal secretary, forfeiture experienced preferred. Extensive legal secretarial knowledge in civil litigation casework. Considerable knowledge of civil/forfeiture legal procedures, techniques, terminology, forms and rules of court. Knowledge of sequence of legal actions. Knowledge of rules and procedures of all Arizona State and a variety of federal courts. State and office procedures for acquisition of case-related expenses and current travel policies. Substantial working knowledge of various computer programs. Skill in composing various complex legal correspondence and pleadings. Excellent skills in grammar, punctuation, spelling, basic editing and formatting of a wide variety of legal documents.
