Marketing Manager - Intellectual Property Candidate will support the firm’s national intellectual property practice and work with practice leadership and the marketing team to help develop, implement and drive marketing and business development initiatives. Will be responsible to provide and coordinate marketing support for the patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and IP litigation areas and will directly supervise the IP Marketing Coordinator. Will generate ideas, take initiative, manage projects, drive follow-up while delivering stellar service and superior work product. Responsibilities include creating practice group marketing plans; initiating and managing cross-department marketing initiatives; providing business development coaching and direction; coordinating, tracking and monitoring business development efforts and preparing compelling and persuasive RFP responses and pitch materials. Other essential functions include developing and managing the IP marketing budget; implementing pre-event and follow-up protocols to help lawyers generate leads and build relationships; working with the events team to produce seminars, webinars, and other events; working with the Communications team to identify media opportunities. Will report to the Director of Marketing.
Qualification and Experience
Candidate should have a college degree with 5+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, or business development (law firm or other professional services marketing experience is a plus). Previous experience working with IP attorneys is preferred. Some travel is required.
