Corporate Securities Paralegal The candidate will provide paralegal and administrative support to the Head of ICG Litigation and a senior lawyers supporting the Clients Group business. Will be required to assist and take direction from attorneys requiring paralegal assistance in responding to litigations, arbitrations, regulatory inquiries, investigations and subpoenas on behalf of the Clients Group, including Markets and Securities Services, Corporate and Investment Banking, Personal Wealth Management, and Transactional Services. Assist litigation and regulatory attorneys with their matters from start to end: gathers responsive information and documents, reviews legal documents and e-mails, drafts and distributes document preservation notices, drafts letters, prepares documents for production to regulators, processes settlement payments, and prepares regulatory filings. Work closely with and assists retained outside counsel on more complex matters. Liais with internal support functions (e.g. Compliance, Finance, Risk and Audit, as well as other lawyers throughout the firm) and business clients, and is responsible for working independently to gather information and documents in order to respond to requests. Assist in opening and closing matters, tracking settlements and resolutions and keeping metrics for the department.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience working as a paralegal in either a law firm or corporate legal department. Financial Services experience preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and organizational skills. Should be detail oriented, able to adhere to tight deadlines, successfully multitask, and use discretion with respect to confidential information.
