Pricing Analyst Duties: Create, monitor and analyze pricing proposals and matter budgets. Reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. Some of the responsibilities of the Pricing Analyst include working with engagement partners to define scope and build pricing proposals based on historical data, available benchmark data and engagement specifics, creating matter budgets based on approved pricing and assisting engagement partners in monitoring matter budgets, addressing variances and identifying scope changes. Assist Financial Analysts in reporting and analysis of pricing and matter budget management and proactively build and maintain relationships with decision makers throughout the Firm. Demonstrate a high level of service delivery; do what is necessary to ensure customer satisfaction; deal with service failures and prioritize customer needs and evangelize the use of value-based pricing arrangements, Legal Project Management and related tools and services.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a similar discipline - will consider relevant work experience in lieu of Business degree. Experience in the financial analysis field as well as experience in the legal industry, particularly in litigation. Demonstrated project management and planning skills and experience (e.g. Gantt charts, work breakdown, scheduling) and a working knowledge of task based management systems and law firm alternative fee arrangements is preferred. Candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on advanced Excel skills – particularly in the preparation of visualizations. Should have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations; have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; and have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Should have the ability to take action while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; be able to apply analytical skills, use reason, review facts and weigh options; remain open-minded and flexible, with the ability to change opinions on the basis of new information; perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transitions effectively from task to task; adapt to varying customer needs. Should have demonstrated ability to challenge conventional practices; adapt established methods for new uses; pursue ongoing system improvement; play with concepts and ideas to create novel solutions to problems and be able to evaluate new technology as potential solutions. Should be able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment; handle multiple priorities/tasks; make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Should be able to grasp and apply new ideas as well as be able to communicate those ideas with various personalities at all levels – requiring excellent written and presentation skills.
