Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the administrative and word processing workloads of the principal (s) assigned to the position. Provides accurate and timely work product in accordance with the needs of their assigned attorney (s) and/or paralegals. Answers incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner and communicates an accurate message on behalf of the caller. Performs advanced functions of word processing including but not limited to redlining, blacklining, merge, columns, footnoting, creating tables of contents, tables, etc. Also responsible for filing; mailing; scanning; monthly billing memos; and a variety of administrative tasks without supervision. Litigation responsibilities include: produce documents utilizing litigation terminology, formatting and appropriately applying rules of court; draft and finalize documents, pleadings and other materials from written or oral instruction; assemble and file final documents in accordance with court rules, including e-filing; advanced knowledge and familiarity with state and local court rules. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of legal experience in a related area. Law firm experience is required. Prior experience supporting a senior partner and assisting with a variety of administrative or executive support tasks required, including processing of client bills and making travel arrangements, etc. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent computer skills including, MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook e-mail and calendar. Basic Internet research skills and interest in learning new research tools and databases as needed. Must possess excellent proofreading skills. Accurate typing skills of 65+ wpm is required. The ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced / high pressure working environment and the availability to work overtime daily. Excellent attention to detail. Proactive and enthusiastic approach to client service and team work.
